梅花的花語是凌霜鬥雪、迎春開放、風骨俊傲、不趨榮利、堅強、忠貞、高雅。
The flower language of plum blossoms is fighting against frost and snow, blooming to welcome spring, being handsome and proud, not seeking glory and gain, being strong, loyal and elegant.

一月梅花花神：江采蘋
江采蘋，即梅妃，出生於福建莆田江東村，唐玄宗開元中，太監高力士出使到福建、廣東一帶，見到丰神楚楚、秀骨姍姍的江采蘋，就收她選入宮中服侍唐玄宗，大受寵幸，唐玄宗自得江采蘋，視宮中粉黛如塵土。江采蘋癖愛梅花，所居之處遍植梅樹，唐玄宗戲名曰梅妃。唐玄宗曾當着諸王面稱讚梅妃“吹白玉笛，作《驚鴻舞》，一座光輝”。後來因楊貴妃的出現，梅妃失寵，孤寂而終。
The God of Plum Blossoms in January: Jiang Caiping
Jiang Caiping, also known as Mei Fei, was born in Jiangdong Village, Putian, Fujian. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, the eunuch Gao Lishi went on an envoy to Fujian and Guangdong. When he saw Jiang Caiping, who was rich and graceful, he chose her to serve in the palace. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty was greatly favored. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty was so proud of Jiang Caiping that he regarded the pink and white flowers in the palace as dust. Jiang Caiping loved plum blossoms and planted plum trees everywhere where she lived. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty named her Plum Concubine. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty once praised Concubine Mei in front of all the kings for “playing the white jade flute and composing the “Jinghong Dance”, which is a glorious palace.” Later, due to the appearance of Concubine Yang, Concubine Mei fell out of favor and died alone.

梅花通常在晚冬至早春開放，故亦稱「冬梅」和「春梅」。在中國傳統文化上，梅與蘭、竹、菊一起列為「四君子」，也與松、竹一起稱為「歲寒三友」。並有所謂「春蘭花、夏荷花、秋菊花、冬梅花」，梅花憑着耐寒的特性，成為代表冬季的花。

In traditional Chinese culture, plum blossoms, along with orchids, bamboos and chrysanthemums, are listed as the “Four Gentlemen”, and together with pine and bamboo are also known as the “Three Friends of Winter”. There are also so-called “spring orchids, summer lotus, autumn chrysanthemums, and winter plum blossoms.” Plum blossoms have become the flower that represents winter due to their cold resistance.
